The Kathgodam prepaid taxi counter (immediately outside the station, run by the Uttarakhand State Transport) offers shared cab seats at Rs 200–Rs 300 per person, departing as cabs fill up (usually within 15–30 minutes during the day). Caveat: Shared cabs run hard until 5 PM, sparsely after that. If your train arrives after 6 PM, expect to pay full sedan rate.
