What the Haldwani Numaish is

A numaish is a seasonal exhibition fair, and Haldwani's is one of the busier ones in the Kumaon foothills. For the month it runs, the M.B. ground fills with stalls selling clothes, household goods, handicrafts and toys, food and chaat counters, and rides for children. It is more an evening out than a daytime trip: families come after work, the lanes get busy after dark, and the food end stays open late. If you are in Haldwani in August, it is the easiest thing to do in the evening.

Dates and daily timings

The fair runs every day from 1 August 2026 until Raksha Bandhan, which falls on 28 August 2026. Exact daily opening hours are not officially posted. Fairs like this usually get going in the late afternoon and stay open well into the night, with the busiest stretch after dark. For the quieter version, go on a weekday soon after it opens; for the full buzz, a weekend evening is the time.

Entry fees

WhenEntry fee, per person
Weekdays (Monday to Friday)Rs 30
Weekends (Saturday and Sunday)Rs 50

Tickets are sold at the gate only. There is no online booking. Carry cash for entry and for the stalls, since not every counter takes UPI.

Where it is: M.B. ground, behind Durga City Centre

The Numaish is on the M.B. ground, the open ground by M.B. Inter College, directly behind Durga City Centre in central Haldwani. It is easy to find: aim for Durga City Centre and the ground sits right behind it. The approach road runs past the college's mural-painted boundary wall, which is the picture at the top of this page.

Parking

Paid parking is available for both cars and two-wheelers near the ground. On weekend evenings it fills up, so arrive a little earlier, or park a short walk away and come in on foot. If you are staying close by in the town centre, an auto is often simpler than driving in on a busy night.

Getting there and where to stay

The Numaish is in the middle of Haldwani, so any central hotel puts you within a short auto ride of the ground. If you are coming from out of town for the fair, a few places to start:

Good to know

  • Carry cash. Entry is paid at the gate, and many stalls are cash-first.
  • Weekends cost more at the gate (Rs 50) and are the most crowded; weekday evenings are calmer and cheaper (Rs 30).
  • Paid parking fills on weekend nights. Arrive early or walk in from a nearby street.
  • It is an open ground, so keep a light rain plan in the monsoon.
  • Go a little hungry. The food and chaat end is the best part of the evening.

How we listed this

We list local events editorially and are not the organiser. Entry fees, dates and parking were gathered on the ground and are current as of 10 August 2026. Details at a walk-in fair can change during the month, so treat the gate as the final word.
